Aberdeen Report on ERP Perceptions was created by Mohammed Malek
Hi, I came across this Aberdeen report and I found a number of interesting things so I am sharing it .. on pages 5 and 6 see Aberdeen's view of how best in class companies have benefited from ERP, also at the beginning of the report see the reasons companies have listed for not adopting ERP.

The full report is here

Thanks for sharing this. I tend to agree that a well implemented ERP will certainly help improve inventory, speed up closing, optimize supply chain .. and of course help business leaders make informed decisions.

The trick is how to get ERP implewmented without much modifications and such time wasting diversions.

ERP is about process improvement .. but the real nugget is BI which you can't do much with until you have your ERP in place.

My key interest is how to you crash the implementation cycle for those two and does it make much sens to try to do them together .. does not look like it but I do not have forever to get on up then the other.

I found that the best approach to implementing ERP is to get a really strong implementation partner, one who is like your doctor, one who has the authority and the experience to tell you what to do.

This way things can get done, otherwise those easy going flexible implementers just join your team and you all fail together.
