Top 100 CIOs of 2012

CIO Magazine has published its top 100 CIO list for 2012 .. sadly no one from the Middle East but notably there is one CIO from Turkey.

I wonder whether that is because we do not do enough to promote our work, hence no nominations from the region or whether we suffer from lack of innovation (I doubt it).

But it is worth thinking about .. here is the full list

That is a shame, no one from the Gulf region. We all work in unreal conditions, little budgets, expat workforce .. and many of us do a great job for our businesses.

I think most CIOs in the region do nothing to promote their work, CEOs do not talk about how/whether IT is transforming the way they do business.

In fact most people can't name 5 CIOs from the Middle East.

No one will do it for us, we gotta take control and build our own public profiles.
